Well, we have the motor home about all loaded up. My wife and I are heading to Albuquerque to visit my son in the Air Force at Kirkland AFB. He can't come home this Christmas so we're gonna take a little trip. Starting at the east side of Texas on I-20/10 to El Paso, head on over to Juarez for a couple of smooth Mexican brews and maybe pick up a couple of blankets and then up to Albuqurque to see my son and check out some of the poker tables at the Indian Casinos. Have to be back Dec. 26th. I-40 over to Amarillo then down to I-20 again. Should be a fun trip if nothing breaks down. It did make it from Buckhannon, WV, (where I met Frank) to Texas but had some problems and got to Bowling Green to late to meet most of you. Should have posted this earlier. Anyway, be leaving mid morning. Any of you on the way there or back, holler at me. Maybe we can say howdy as we roll through. Check back in in Albuquerque. Wish us luck.   Happy Holidays to everyone! longhorn29438704.3285532407

Dwain,
Be careful, enjoy camping & the time spent with your son. Are you pulling the vette? My wife and I are campers and we take our vette depending on where we go. It is a great day cruiser and usually sparks some conversation with others at the campground.

Made it back home yesterday. Feeling a little light in the pocketbook. Average about 7.25 mpg. Can't complain about a 25 year old Dodge RV with a 440 ci. eng.  I enjoyed seeing my son and his new girl friend  for 5 days. Over all too soon. Didn't pull the Vette...jeez, I wouldn't want to see that gas milage.   It did start running a little hot and pinging on acceleration the last couple hundred miles. A mechanic said he thought the timing chain was worn. I'm flushing out the radiator and changing thermostats first.

Overall, a good trip. Jaurez was disappointing. Too many people. Christmastime I guess. Anyway, back home waiting for the new HEI tach and wires for the '71. Hope that'll straighten her out.

Y'all have a Happy and SAFE New Years
