Vette(s): #1 -1969 Corvette Coupe Riverside Gold, black interior,MN,A/C,350/350,PS,PB,window cranks.
#2 -2000 C5, black/black, 6 sp, Bose system & lots of buttons.
Yes, Mark..I can believe you said that!! A C5, huh??
One thing I can't believe is that's it for Pam.
Once you drive it, you will want to drive it AGAIN (trust me, I'm a lawyer
). I lucked into my Black 2000 C5 Coupe. The air works so good in those things that when I get out of the car and into the heat, it fogs up my glasses!

Joel is right, don't buy a C5 with mods on it......its got to be a disaster from a Bubba Owner.
So far, mine's been a good car. I know in 2000 you could get HUD, cuz I have it on mine. Mine came loaded to the hilt (the big package). When I buy another vette, and if it's a new one, I HAVE to have HUD - I'm spoiled with that now!

Keep lookin' and if I see anything at a good price with no mods and in good shape, I'll pass it on!

You could get Pam one of these:

Vette(s): Silver 1974 Convertible - L82 4 speed
Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.
2008 Jetstream Blue Convertible
I keep trying to tell my wife's friends that I want to buy her a Corvette, but it's not working.
A note about OnStar - and keep in mind, I know next to nothing. I have heard that with the change to all digital TV signals next year, some of the older OnStar units will no longer work as they use some of the frequencies that are affected. If you're looking at a car with OnStar, make sure it will work in the long run.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Your right Marshall, the older vehicles with oStar are going to need upgrades of some kind, my 07 Avalanche won't.
I wanted the wifes new car to have onStar in it, but its looking like she may get onStar anyways in the form of a 07 Avalanche. We are leaning towards me getting a used car
(Black Vert) and shes getting a nicer more equiped truck, my truck.

Mark don't rule out the Saturn Sky. One of my Bosses owns one and they are pretty cool.

Why does she want On Star?
A good GPS is cheaper and there are no annual fees.
Most of the world carries a cell phone.
Apple I phone does both plus the internet.
Just curious....

Just curious....[/QUOTE]
Lock outs
Satalite phone service
Air bag deployment notification
Just a few reasons. I want her to have it more then she wants it. Almost all of my drive home to and from work is through the backwoods of Ft Lewis and I get no cell phone reception but my phone service through onStar she tells me is clearer then a landline connection.

What do you all think of this 2003 C5?
cilrah 2008-06-11 16:05:54
Even know I want a Black, I mean Pam wants a Black Vert, that 2003 looks like a nice car for the price. I know the auction hasn't ended but I don't expect it to go that much higher. Sure would be cool to have a 25th Anniversary and a 50th Anniversary

Vette(s): 1978 pace car replica
Mark, that 2003 50th vert looks pretty nice. It would really be nice with a set of pace car (2002) decals on it. They go through on ebay every once in a while.
Happy shopping!

MARK!!! NO, that 2003 C5 (50th Annv.) car is RED!!
They are around everywhere........I see them all the time, even more than verts or coupes. I like the black coupe, seems like a better deal and you have more room in the back end.
