Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

I saw the movie yesterday. In the very beginning, and at the very end, they note that the virus killed everyone in 2009.
That said, if you were stranded in a post-apocalyptic world and hunting deer through New York City, wouldn't you want an SUV? Sure you would, and that's what Will Smith drives during the rest of the movie. However, the Ford SUVs are non-descript enough, that Ford clearly wanted more attention for providing vehicles to the movie. That's the only explainable reason for the Rustang.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
