Anybody here know anything about these old turds? I got one...re-discovered it in one of my buildings over the weekend, and am kinda throwing around the idea of maybe trying to get it running. I'm really trying to find out what MODEL it is....I haven't found one on the net yet that was the same. All I know is it is a '72, 250 street bike, and the side panel says "Torque Induction". Anyone got any ideers?

More pics here, if it helps...

I think one of my college roommates might have had on of those.  Is it 2 cycle or 4 cycle?

Twin cylinder, oil injection, 2 smoker...just what ya need to give the enviro police the shakes!  LOL
I don't know iffin it's an RD, a DS7, or what. I haven't seen one like it anywhere that I've searched yet. The DS7 seems to be common, but this ain't one of those, best I can tell. The RD is different, too. I'll check Larry's link and see if it helps. Thumbs Up

Vette(s): 1972 conv, 4-speed, 350, 200hp, numbers match, rally wheels, war bonnett yellow w/white top. good condition, nice driver.
Most likely a RD-250.  They used to change them to fire on BOTH cylinders at the same time and run them in Hill Climbs. Called them a "TWINGLE"  They had awsome torque at low end for a small bore and the "Rs" will keep up the power band. 2nd gear wide open, dump the cluch, keep your head on the handlebars and point it up hill for a few seconds, trip the light at the top and go back down for another try. Clap   Restore it, it's worth keepin.  Looks great in the picture.

Big smile Tanks Mark! It do appear to be an RD250, now that I searched that, and found pics that match what I have. The link Larry provides above says that the RD was a 1973 model only, tho...I need to check the dang numbers on the bike....I'm going by the paperwork I have, and it shows it to be a '72.
btw, Larry..that manual is great, but I can't d-load it...dadgummit!Angry LOL
I did do a screen cap and at least got the wiring diagram!Wink

Very cool, I've had a few of these, even the Kawi 2 stroke triple "the triple with the ripple" cuz it handled like sh!t, bust was fast as F>>>!!

the torque injection is just the 2 stroke oil injection for the cylinders..I should be able to tell you anything you need to know on this bike :) great find.. jealous :)

I think this weekend I'll go rummage around "in one of my buildings" and see if I can find a motorcycle in there.  Yeah right!

Cool bike, though.  I agree, it's a keeper and deserves a resto.  I had a '82 Nighthawk 450 for a couple years.  Got rid of it 2 or 3 years ago because I was spending too much time and money on it and wanted to get started on the 'Vette resto.  (needed room in the garage, too).  Now that the 'Vette is at least running (never done) I'm thinking about another Honda.  70's Scrambler 350 is one that I'm kind of interested in.
