No, that's not a typo, and no, this isn't a post for the "Anything Goes" forum. I just wanted to sing the praises (ok, I'll spare you any actual singing) of a Sears screwdriver tips set called "Screw Out." It's for damaged/stripped screw heads that won't come out with a regular screwdriver.

I actually bought it because I had a light underwater in my pool that had a striped head screw and I needed to get it out. It says it's designed for cordless drills, but as I did, it can also be used with non powered handheld tools as well.
I was very impressed with how easily this worked. I know I had tried in the past to get this screw out with all my might and no luck. With these bits, I didn't even have to try that hard, just apply smooth, steady pressure and voila! I guess it has very sharp edges designed to dig in to the screw itself, then grab hold.
If anyone has a screw that they just can't seem to get out, this is well worth the $19.99 they charge. It comes with three different sizes.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

i bought a set when they first came out. they do work great but i have
found a lot of times usiing a drill even slow i wind up drilling the
head off. it is amazing though when it works the way it should.
