Or when you start getting into heavy snow the governor (which part of it) is that rod thingy connected to the throttle will move the throttle automatically to keep the engine speed up in the "power band."

If the engine is still surging there is either a bit of dirt in the carburetor or it's not totally adjusted properly.

Too bad I didn't live closer to you. I'd have that little Tecumseh engine singing.

Thanks for the help.

Yes I do enjoy a nice drive…in the spring/summer/fall. My aching back doesn't do long winter drives well. I drive one of those very large dump trucks plowing town roads all winter. They pound the heck out you. Otherwise I'd be more than happy to take a run out your way.
You could ship the carb out to me and I could go through it if you want. I just did 2 carbs for Tecumseh snowblower engines this winter season so far. Just cover parts and shipping.

Dave, now your around the block from me. lol. If you need help with yours just give me a holler.

So, I did not get a chance to attempt to adjust it correctly before using it yesterday. It was mostly fine, but the longer I used it, and the more clogged up the auger and chute got, the worse it behaved. It would sputter and "backfire" and get near stalling.  I watched the video you posted, and plan to watch it again and use it as my guide, perhaps this Saturday, to try and get it to run right.

Thanks!

I got to adjusting it this weekend. I couldn't seem to get it adjusted quite right. A guy who I know from Cub Scouts happen to be driving by my house when I was working on it, and he stopped to say hi.  He has experience with these engines and carbs, so he offered to help.  He got it running pretty good for me. I was able to use it for a snowfall we had Saturday. It was a light snowfall, though. I'll be interested to see how it performs for a heavy snowfall.

Thanks for the help guys!

Cool!!! Thumbs Up

My 13hp Ariens has been getting a lot of use this season. Since my back is shot, I only shovel the light fluffy stuff and the front porch.
