BRIGHTCool ain't it! NOOOO...it's not mine! Seems the local Lotus specialist has befriended me. I've had his 2 personal Lotuss(Loti?)out in the barn all winter keeping the Vettes company. He brought this one over yesterday to get it out of his shop, a customer's car. Had to put it in mama's garage til the ground hardens.

Here's the crazy part. The one he's working on now he had to go pick up with his trailer...IN TEXAS. Seems no one wants to work on these things. GM dealers are apparently authorized to service them but the owner had no luck finding anyone down Texas way. Needed a motor, found that in Texas, too. He'll do the work and then bring it back down. Gonna ask him if he needs a co-driver!Big%20smile

Makes you think how relatively easy our Vettes are to work on and appreciate the availability of parts.  Mike

Bryon, the Vette across the street will continue to deteriorate. No response to my note. I even replaced my original note with a replacement as it hung there on the mailbox for 6 days getting raggy till he took it. Maybe this summer if I ever see him working on it(ha) I'll find the nerve to pull into his drive with MY white 79 and see what reaction I get.

I think the Texas Lotus came up from Ft. Worth. The motor they located was in Waco, I guess some kind of salvage place. To me they look flashy but I don't like the "vroom-vroom" sound to em. The guy opened it up coming down my drive and it sounded kinda ricey!  Mike

No...the ricers sound like the Loti!!!
That's just weird...there are several Lotus dealers in the D/FW area, as well as repair specialists. Maybe your buddy is just better than these guys, and you can understand him when he talks!

He said something about the newer Elise(sp?)being more serviceable than the older Esprit which is what he seems to find to fix. Told me there's only like 1 dealer in Chicago way up on the north side that will touch them, and they'd rather not. Apparently the owner bought the thing with a bad motor. Had the clutch replaced at $2500 but they didn't want to do the motor. They could have told him that BEFORE they did the clutch!mkapp78792007-03-24 21:08:16
