Otay, I'm a sucker for new toys that make my werk a little easier...some say it's because I'm so lazy...I say "SO?".

Anyway, I bought this neat little thing the other day. It's a Video Bore Scope. Now, I have a regular Bore Scope, but it ain't near as kewl as this Video deal.
What's a Bore Scope, you say? Well, it is a tool that you can use to look down into the cylinders of an engine to look for damage, or just to check to see how it looks down in there. Ya never know when ya might have a crack in a piston, or scoring on the cylinder walls from a stuck ring. You can also use a borescope to look around corners, such as in an intake manifold, so you can see the valves. Same thing with the exhaust.
It's handy if ya want to look up into the dash area, like inside your A/C plenum, for a leak.
Get the idea?
Well, hi-tech has come to the bore-scope area.
This thing is basically just a small video camera, mounted on a flexible tube, with two BRIGHT LED lights built into the end.
You use it the same way as a regular bore-scope, but instead of having to put the thing up to yer eyeball, focus it, and hold the other end where ya want it, you just flip the thing on, and it gives you a clear video screen image of what your looking at...IN LIVING COLOR!!
It comes in handy if you're a carpenter, too....ya wanna look inside that wall before ya start drillin/cutting? Take a look!

Anyway, this thing is just too kewl, so I had to share...check it out!

Ive always wanted one of those things, they sure could save a lot of neck straining and squinting working in close or inaccessible places.... especially for us with old eyes and bifocals. The price is still a little higher than I can justify but you have me thinking Smile

Wow..........$300.00 tool to find loose change??? Sounds kinda kinky to me. Plumbers use instuments like this to find drainage obstacles (sort like rectal doctors). There isn't anything cooler than new tools.

Actually, this Video Scope is not that much more than the regular, fiber-optic scope I bought a couple of years ago. I paid about $280 for that one, and this new one was $320!!!
Granted, not everyone needs one, but they sure are kewl, and handy!
Ya never know...might be some on e-may cheaper than that!

I design those things and other video inspection tools. Been designing them for 15 years. Company was Everest-VIT and now it's GE Inspection Technologies. Some of the ones we have done are capable of measuring distances and objects with computer software using a digital camera. We have one that are 3/16" in diameter with the bending tip. The price you paid sounds great to me, our stuff costs over $10K for one system.
Whenever I need one I just bring one home from work.
Have fun with it, be careful where you point that thing LOL

Of course that darn thing does no good if you don't have a clue what your looking at LOL Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

Although I could prolly find a bazillion other uses for a tool as cool as that Thumbs%20Up  Maybe you could use it to look on top of peoples fuel tanks before they spend all their hard time dropping a tank just to find out that the buildsheet is gone Confused
