There may be other states that have this, but I just found out about it!!

Your Texas driver's license has a phone number on the back, just above the bar code on the lower left side:

1-800-525-5555. (It's VERY SMALL PRINT but it IS there.)

This number can be called for emergency assistance on the highway or wherever you might have trouble while in your car.

A service truck will be sent to you. This service is state operated, paid for with your tax dollars.

If you are ever stranded, just call the number on your driver's license...help is on the way.

A state trooper will be sent to make sure all is well. This one is worth passing on especially to all the women you know

This would have been nice to know a couple of years ago, when our other Cad lost its water pump just inside of the state line(We had been in Texarkana). I called our tow service that we use at the shop. It is about 200 miles from Dallas, and the jerk took his sweet time getting there!! Cost me almost $400!!! This was in August, so it was nice and warm!!

Thats because Texas is so freakin big that if you get stranded in the middle of no where by the time someone gets there all they would find is a skelton

Only thing it says on the back of my WA license is "Organ Donor" they won't come out and get me if I breakdown but they will come out and rip my heart out if I get in an accident and die

I never knew that.  You're right, it is on the back of the license.  They sure don't advertise that our taxes pay for that, or that it's a free service!!
