I need a couple of crowfoot wrenches a specific size and of course, despite the billions of square feet of retail space, none of our local tool outlets stock these simple and common gadgets so I started searching online.  Besides the premium tool vendors that charge a weeks salary per tool, I have only found them individually on Sears website and a few questionable sites.  I don't like to order online from someplace I've never heard of before and I don't like to buy Chinese tools - I like my knuckles the way they are  Ouch .  Where do y'all recommend to shop for tools online?

ditto e-bay! I gotta hate-hate relationship with China, it's like they are engineering the tools with just the right amount of crap so they don't break until you actually leave the store and get home.

In my job, I use a lot of tools. I prefer Mac, Snap-on and Craftsman because of the life time warranty. I have, on more than one occasion, broken a tool. I like these tool makers because I can buy one item as opposed to a whole set. Just look in the catalogs. I have also purchased "throw away tools" from Great Northern, Harbor freight and auto parts suppliers because I know that I'm going to ruin them anyway. I have about 30-35K in tools and boxes, most being specialized tools. You probably don't need to go to that extent. Keep in mind that not all tools are the same. Some have a better "feel" than others. It's going to come down to what you want and like. Hope this will help.

Jim

We have local Harbor Freight and Northern, but I have gotten burned on Pittsburgh and Northern brand tools before - like I said, I like my knuckles intact.  I have mostly Craftsman wrenches and sockets and I'll be perfectly happy to order from Sears, but I was just hoping for a link to a good tool website that mabe I hadn't heard of before.  Usually when I need a tool, I need it right away, so keeping stuff in stock and fast shipping is key.

I have also had good luck with ebay for tools.  Just make sure the person selling or vendor has a few previous sales and positive feedback.

The only negative thing about ebay is shipping, which can be high sometimes.

For me, in my business I go SK. Last a long time with much abuse and like Jim said, I break one and go to anyplace that sells SK and get a replacement. I also would try Ebay.

I purchased a set of crowsfeet from Sears; but it was a few years ago. I prefer to buy the better grade of tools, "once", but I do own some of the off-brands too.
