Easy Joel, I may be old, balding, white bearded, pouch belly, aches and pains at all joints, sometimes forgetful, but, I have too much money in that car to not protect it the best way possible..Now with that said the trailer went into a water tight hold, temperature controlled, with the ships Master checking it every 4 hours during the voyage, It was unloaded last night in Seattle at 2200 hours, pulled into a maintenance building in case it rained. It is warm and dry waiting for it's feeding in the morning..I will be calling you early Thursday afternoon..Terry

I can draw a diagram, and post it.
Be sure to use really strong straps. Mine are 3&4" wide.

I think it would be good for all of us members to be able to either see pictures or diagrams of how other members have tied down their cars when transporting. If nothing else, it may give us all a sense of security if our cars ever need to be trailered by (gasp) local tow truck drivers to know that we can check how it is secured and insist on a more appropriate method if we are not comfortable.
But seriously, I have put the purchase of a vehicle trailer on my list of things that NEED to be purchased sometime in the near future, and would love to be able to consult C3VR for the proper way to secure my Pride and Joy when the time comes.
What does everyone think? Sound good? If so, maybe Adam would be willing to oblige.
I strap mine down with 6-8 foot straps in the back crossed with a hook at one end attaching to the frame in front of the rear tires. that's why the holes are there. . In the front I use an over the tire strap that goes through an eyelet in the front of the front tire and ratchet from the front. By using this method you do not have to crawl under the car ...you just work from the side. Got my straps from MAC. Got my tilt trailer from : http://sweetriversfarms.com/_wsn/page9.html
It works great & they are nice to deal with. Also installed a wench & installed a hook on the middle cross member to attach the wench too. I don't drive it on or off ..I use the wench. I can do the whole thing myself in about 10-15 minutes without breaking into a sweat. Also keep the wench attached with the tie downs. Bolted tire stop to the trailer so it's parked perfect every time. If anyone wants pictures give me an e-mail & I'll shoot them your way. Almost forgot I had to build two 4' ramps out of 2x8 because my spoiler is so cloce to the ground.

Mark,
Here's a very informative article that I found on the net today. It's somewhat involved....kinda like asking someone for the time of day and they tell you how to assemble a watch.
