Yea, I live just a short distance from Stockton and Modesto, CA, and I try not to take my vette, at least, any where that would cause me to loose sight of it when I park. I was in Downtown Stockton today, sitting at a stop light when 2 guys zeroed in on me while crossing in the cross walk. They changed direction and circled back behind me and this wasn't the most heavily trafficed part of town, in other words ( NO WITNESSES ). Soooo ........I was very alert to their actions, one foot on the clutch and the other on the gas and my reflexes aren't too shabby. I'm thinkin', rocket launch in a split second, noooo Problem.They came up on my side of the car and I'm thinking..... Car Jack ! I'm sizing up the traffic so I can launch against a red light and they yelled at me,.............NICE    CAR    MAN!!!!

Stockton, CA was the number 1 place in the US for many years.  On my way to Vegas last spring I spent the night in Stocton and was scared to death leaving my Dakota in the hotel parking lot   No alarm and a stereo system that almost matches the value of the truck, not good.cilrah38848.8951851852

I hear ya loud and clear.Anywhere in 3 counties, it would be very hard to get any sleep, especially with a class audio system. I'd bet the same goes for most of California.Morals just aren't as popular as they used to be. Lets see, .....Media responsibility ??? MMMMmmmmmm could be!

Several years ago the federal goverment did a study of rusty cars county by county across the USA.  The worst place for rusty car is.......  drum roll please......Summit County Ohio.  Right where I live.   Guess that's why we don't have as much theft.  Who wants to steal a rusty car?
