I did some damage to my chrome trim on my 72 GMC pickup. I see the trim is held on with plastic clips and the trim snaps on to these plastic clips. These clips adhere to the body with sticky tape.

Where can I find this 2 sided tape? I have access to Kragens, Auto Zone, Napa. I want something heavy duty. I assume something stronger than you get at Walmart.
I thought about just glueing the plastic clips back on with an epoxy. Might damage the paint?
Appreciate any ideas......thanks Steve

About 6 years ago I had a 1989 Chevy pickup that I put a used but never rusted bed on and had it repainted by a friend who is locally known to be good at body work/paint. When it came time to put the trim on he said he would'nt use anything but 3M brand two sided tape. I bought some at a local auto paint supplier. It worked great and to this day the trim is still firmly in place.
Get the 3M at an auto paint supplier and apply it to a clean surface. Have the truck sit in the sun for a few hours before and after you apply it so that it sets up right. You don't want the metal to be cold when you first apply the two sided tapt.
It worked for me. Good luck!

Steve they also carry it at my local Topps Hadware Store. Which is like a Home Depot, Menards, or Lowes but much smaller.

Believe it or not I had a PIA part on another car holding aluminum trim on the dash, so it had to look good and I got the stuff at WalMart. I checked all over and the WalMart stuff did the trick.
