Traffic Ticket.......

This advice was sent by a retired State Farm

agent!

This system has been tried and it works in every state.

If you get a speeding ticket or went through a red light, or whatever the case may be, you're going to get points on your license and a surcharge on your auto insurance.

Here is a method to insure that you   DO NOT   get the points.

When you get your fine, send in a check to pay for it.

If the fine is $79.00, make the check out for $82.00, some small

amount over the fine.

The system will then have to send you back a check  for the difference.

However, here is the trick: DO NOT CASH THE REFUND CHECK!

Throw it away!

Points are not assessed to your license until all Financial Transactions are   complete.

If you do not cash the check, then the transactions are NOT   complete.

The system has received its money and is satisfied and will no longer bother you.

This information comes from an unmentionable computer company that sets up the standard databases used by every state.

You never know when they may need a break!

OK...I tell you what.  How about you go and test this, then report back to usBeer.

It does sound plausible...but............

Warning: The surgeon general has declared that it is NOT unhealthy to smoke your competition AND I just discovered that my corvette is a hybred.  It burns gas and rubber!

The BEST way is to get a Lawyer. 90% of the time, they'll get it either dismissed, or adjudicated. Either way, it stays off your record...and it cost about the same as paying the fine in the first place. This is a system I have tested out thoroughly...trust me....Embarrassed

Sorry, but I had to check: snopes says nope.   http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/ticket.asp

Would be cool if it worked.  I've had three tickets in my life and pulled over probably 10 times, but never in the Vette.  I had a cop follow me waiting for me to screw up, but he wasn't able to get me.

Go to traffic school.  Pick one that is a comedy traffic school at least then you will feel a little better.  I call the traffic school my get out of jail free card.  In California you can only use it once every 12 months I believe.  That may be different in each state.

Defensive Driving, in Texas...if I remember right, you can only take that to get out of a ticket once in a three year period. It might be one year...Ida know...I just pay the lawyer around $40, and they take care of it....

Most of the stuff in the email chain is bogus. Thanks for checking it out for the real truth.
