Vette(s): 1975 C3 Red, T-Tops, Black Interior. All I need is time and money! Getting there!
The dealers are not supposed to do this without a verification of ownership.   Not supposed to, but many do.   This is not new, it's been going on for years, sad to say.   It's easier for theives now, due to computers and VIN look up through GM.   Years ago you had to hit the dealer who sold the car.   They recorded the numbers, and kept them on file there.   If you could locate the file several years later you were lucky.  The GM dealer I worked for in the early 80s still recorded them in a sprial notebook.  If you were at the wrong dealer you had no chance.  So our C3s are safe from this.  The newer cars are not.kstyer38856.4646527778

I remember as a kid dad having the Caprice all loaded up ready to go on vacation. Except for those keys that were locked inside stuck in the ignition.
One phone call to the dealership for those new keys and we were off to FLA.

That's something we all should be aware of.    Maybe the state and Congress should put a bill in for the dealers to keep a record of people doing this and should only give the keys to right owners.

But this is very interesting indeed!!

Vette(s): 71 Coupe Black on Black

I just use a 4 foot long burglar alarm.  It has two 12guage holes in the end and the burglars don't usually come back.  I also have a couple of 4 footed alarms around my cars as well.

Just a pity I can't keep those alarms with the car all the time.

My big advantage is that everyone in my town knows who the Black 71 Vette belongs to and we only have two roads out of town and a thousand plus miles to the next substantial city.
