Hey guys,
The car is just about ready... very close to coming home from body and paint... after a year of customization over there I've hit my last and final problem. I will post pics when shes all done as I wont be giving her any justice if I post now...
I have seem to hit an issue with the scoop and air cleaner.
I have the stock and actual 1977 L48 hood on and purchases this scoop from unlimited:

Nice scoop looks bad arse from the front... the side looks ok... however I have added on top of the intake which is a new edlebrock performer rpm (some size as stock) there is a 2" tapered spacer

and on top of that customized holly 4150 dominator bowl carb (750CFM) thats custom jetted as well.

(mines red

)
On top of the carb is the wonderful air cleaner....

Inside that air cleaner is this:

Here is a super poor diagram!

So the air cleaner at the highest point sticks out 3" through the hood. The scoop covered perfectly... however it just wouldn't function... lost 50% of visibility while driving and the fiberglass build up would be more costly than its disgusting look... plus not to mention a sports car is supposed to be smooth, not like a muscle camaro.. lol.
I think its time to start looking at nice looking vented hood where the cowl can be modified, or a super charging option thats beautifully cheap but introduces a slim hat... Any suggestions?
Thank-you guys and once again I apologize with my horribly portrait!

P.S.
In case anyone is interested.... the current engine setup briefly is:
Original cast iron block (baked, cleaned, sand blasted, bored, honed and stroked to a 383. Aluminum assembled edlebrock performer RPM heads with racing valves (port and polished), edlebrock performance cam its a roller cam. Crank is the original crank just re-done, KB flat top racing pistons, performer rpm intake, 750CFM dominator 4150 custom carb, 2" tapered spacer... some other stuff (I believe compression is 10:1) "simulated" 600HP. THe trans is up in the air.. I have a 700R4, the dude who told me to use it actually is a douche and two other guys are telling me they can build a race trans out of a TH400 and or a TH350 for $1,800 and I'll be much happier.. which actually saves drivline cutting, crossmember changing, ect...
