Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

Yesterday was the wife's and my ten year anniversary. We had talked about going to Hawaii for the anniversary, but decided a while back that it wasn't in the cards (or the checkbook
).

I took her to the restaurant that now occupies the building that housed the club where we went post-reception. The waiter asked if we had been there before and I said "we were here 10 years ago tonight" and the wife finally caught on. She hadn't made the connection, but was very pleased when she did.
After a very nice dinner, I gave her a card. In the back of the card was a note that explained I knew we had discussed taking a significant trip, and that I had decided "what the heck" and that when we left the restaurant "our next destination is HI - Aloha"
You've got to understand that my wife's got me pretty well figured out by now. She figured we probably weren't really going to Hawaii, but she knew something was cooking. I put a Lei around her neck and when we got to the car, I told her she had to close her eyes (I had forgotten the blindfold).
I drove her to the hotel where we had stayed the night of our wedding. I had gotten the same room we spent our wedding night in, and decorated it with a Hawaiian theme, including palm trees and a stereo playing Hawaiian music.
I again carried her over the threshhold and let her open her eyes. There was also a note stating "Welcome to Holiday Inn, aka HI"
We had a wonderful night and we're looking forward to another great ten years and more. Who knows, maybe someday we'll actually get to the islands!!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
