I always say, once you get the first one behind you, the rest come easy.

Vicki and I are having our combined 50th next year.  If you add up all the time we have together, we have 48 this year (our 10th for real) so we thought it would be smart to have the combined 50th next year since when we get 40 more years down the road most of our friends and maybe us won't know who the heck we are anyway

So maybe next year at the gathering would be one good place to celebrate!

going to be married 31 years in nov. wife always talked about "renewing" our vows and as i told her the originals didn't wear out so we shouldn't fix what ain't broke. except for the last couple years because of her medical problems we never went anywhere without the other. that includes when i used to go to the bars, as i figured if she drank too much too, she couldn't yell at me for drinking too much. i still feel the same way about her as the day i married her so why should we have to renew the vows? plus the fact she bought me 2 corvettes. kinda lost track of the thread...great joke joel eddie208752007-07-04 17:45:59

OH MY GOD ! David, what is your secret bro. I had to renew our vows every decade and take a second job to afford the vettes. Now that we have a 3rd vette, the wife decided she wanted one too (except it is not RED ) . I don't know, sometimes I could just "SPIT". no secret...i am just a great guy. when we got married, i had to buy her a cheap wedding ring and told her one day she will get the real deal and more. much to my surprise she stuck around and waited. well as things got better i started to make good on the promise. i would buy her better as we could afford it and she deserved it for putting up with me.  needless to say my 75 was for our thirtieth anniversary and she got a 5 karat tennis bracelet. i guess in a way i have renewed my vows but not at the altar.
