If the second episode wasn't as bad, maybe they're on the right track!! I hope so, also!

I just read through your families trama. I do hope that all is getting better. Please stay diligent with your efforts to find the source. As well, if at any point you are uncomfortable with a diagnosis seek another opinion. Having had similar symptoms that were misdiagnosed (twice) I experienced 3 cerebral hemmorages. It wasn't until being diagnosed an aneurism that I was fortunite enough to find a doctor willing to do correct this through brain surgery. I am not telling you this to scare you but rather to point you into a direction that accepts no less than all questions being answered to satisfaction. Anything less should be unacceptable. As with the outpouring of support from the others you and your wife will be in my prayers.
Thanks Larry. It is clear that the problems is from the infection, which is still there but shrinking. It does show up very plainly. The unknown is how much brain damage there is, and how much recovery will occour.
But it is again getting better. Today and Yesterday she managed to get in and out of the bathtub by herself! This is a milestone. Before she could not pick up her left leg enough to accomplish this task. She also could not stand up from the bath tub stool. She had now done that as well, by herself! These are huge victories to us. In about another 3 weeks we should be done with the daily IV, and use just pills. That will be another milestone. I just hope and pray she keeps going in the right direction, and no more setbacks.
