Topic: A setback with my wife

Just got our electricity back last night (post Wilma)....glad I came in when the Mrs. is on the mend. You both are still in our prayers and hang in there. You know you can call on us for anything.

It happened again on Friday 11-4. Another 911 call. Another ambulance ride to the ER. This time they put her on an IV to raise the level of her anti convultion medication, and also raised a low potassium level. Then sent her home. We were at the ER about 4 hours. They also increased her meds so hopefull it won't reoccour.
At least this time it wasn't as bad. After just one day she seem to be completely back physically and close mentally to where she was before the incident. She just forgets more than before, but that's also getting better as the day wears on. We did get in the Minivan and go to dinner tonight. And she very slowly got to the van, into dinner, and back to the van and in the house WITHOUT her walker. Very slow and unsteady, but she made it. I did have to help her stand up at the restaurant. The chair was a bit too low and she could not get up by herself.
Aside from these episodes, she is very slowly and steadly getting better.

Its good to hear this episode wasn't as bad as before, tho. We can only hope that someone figures this out, and gets a handle on the solution. Best wishes to the both of you and the family. Hugs & prayers for all.

Ken, I`m not familiar with symtoms of convulsions with strokjes.
However, Your description is exactly what happens to my wife ( who has had epiletic seizures all her life) scares the sh*t out of me everytime. Not to say she has become epeleptic , but they need to find the source for the siezure. I pray they find no brain tumors. Stay on top of these Drs.
God bless.
