If some of our world leaders could work through a dis-agreement like you guys just did, there would be no need for this discussion at all.As a matter of fact,I think you just convinced me to become a PAYING member.I second the nominations above and look forward to future discussions.

You crack me up Joe!

And Ken...our first order of business as Chief of Staff and Defence Secretary is to sit down and have a beer and talk Corvettes.

P.S. My opinion on politics...
How do you know when a politician is lying?
His mouth is open.

Now Sarge, I think your plan is excellent. The meeting will be called to order. Of course if any one wants to attend, Sarge and I have an open door policy, especially if you're buying

And come on Gribble, it's hard to partake of anything liquid without opening your mouth. Sarge and I will always tell the truth...We Love Vettes

I DO NOT ENDORSE CENSORSHIP OR THE ABRIDGEMENT OF ANY CITIZEN'S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. I have fought for those rights and have even been deprived of liberty and property for doing so. And I will gladly do so again for Jon, Ken, Hank, Adam, Adam Devries, Norsky, Sarge and anyone else.
Stating that "I would not be offended" meant that I was willing (in this specific instance only) to relinquish my right of free speech for the benefit of the Club Forum. I amplified that willingness in a later post because it seemed that things might become more divisive. Happily, things have gone in quite the opposite direction.
A agree with Adam. No rules have been broken. Nothing I have posted was EVER intended to suggest that the rules had been broken. I was questioning taste and tact, not legality.
I believe Jon when he says he intended no harm. And even though I've heard the fable before, I still find it amusing. I took it as a joke until the last. It was (as Jon has suggested)the "endorsement" at the end that caught me the wrong way. And it caught me wrong because it implied (to me) that our complex socio-economic problems have mindlessly simple answers. Oh, how I WISH that were true.
Where I work, when there's not enough to go around it's MY job to take someone who has done nothing wrong, look him or her in the eye and tell them that they don't have a job anymore. I know these people personally; met their kids, their spouses, even some parents. And I know going in that there are no other jobs in our community for them. 70 families in 18 months is a lot to carry. It hurts, and it hurts deeply. I'm tired of it. And I am tired of Democrats, Republicans, Greens, Socialists and everybody else telling me that I should vote for them because they've got better sound bites and one-liners than the other guys. That doesn't fix my problem.
I thank you all for your perspective. And I'm glad that I can come here to relax and have some fun after another day in the "Salt Mine."

Now, on to the important stuff. Where's all this beer I keep hearing about!
