I bought a 1/18 black viper back when the viper first came out. But for some reason they sparked my attention again and I've been looking into getting more this summer. Earlier this summer I bought a red Z06 model, then came home and bought a model of the pace car. I think they're pretty cool so I just ordered a silver '63 split window and a light metallic blue '58 convertible. All at 1/18. I like that size. I'm going to put them on my shelf over my desk at school to remind me of my vette waiting at home.

You should see my bedroom! FULL of Vette stuff. I try to concentrate on 82 CE stuff, but I also like split window cars, C5's, 67 BB models. I collect everything from small to a 3 foot long CE that's still in it's box. Now Steve has all the C5's, the C5-r little raced version #3, the pace car, the grey C5R and a few others. Can you have too much Vette stuff? I've been collecting for a long time. I think your idea of putting them up at school is a great idea! Do you have one exactly like your baby?

All I know is I want a '79 die-cast (or I'd even settle for plastic at this point!), and I can not find them ANYWHERE!
Plenty of 78 and 82s to be found, but not 79! |hammer|

Vette(s): SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe
The first one was a Christmas gift from my daughter - a 1:18 Shelby Cobra 427 SC. Looked for a long time for a 1:18 '70 droptop like "The Toy" but have had to settle for a red '69. Also have a 1:18 '68 (Bullit) Mustang. That's 'bout it for now.

Adam & Jim, maybe you'll find one at Carlisle! That would be cool. 82's used to be like that, couldn't find them any place and if you could, people wanted a fortune for them. The first month the lil JL 82 CE came out, they were going all day long on ebay for $25. LOL

78 stuff is really nice to collect. I think I only have one lil car that's part of one of the collections. It in the newer JL Vette magazine one I think.

Darla,
I wish I had one like my baby, but I can't find one anywhere. The closest I've seen was a black '78, but that is when the back window was changed. Hopefully one day I'll find one if they even exist!!!

1978INDYPACECAR,
When I recently bought the UT '78 Pace Car model I was confused because the tops are the same silverish color that is along the bottom of the car. I thought the tops were black??? I was just confused because usually these models are very accurate. Who's wrong, me or UT?

I just got my '63 in the mail yesterday. It looks really good. I'm hoping my '58 shows up today or else I'll have to wait until October for someone to bring it down because I'm leaving for school early tomorrow morning. ECKLERS!!! IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, I WANT MY ROADSTER.. or my money back for adding rush delivery, because if it doesn't show up today.. then there was no rush involved. |laugh|

I found www.supercar1.com to be a great site for die cast models. Big selection and great service.
