There was a serious fire today on the lot of Universal Studios in Hollywood. Sadly, among the things and structures destroyed was the Clock Tower and Courthouse from the 3 Back To The Future Movies.
While I've been crazy about Corvettes for a long time, I am also a serious BTTF nerd. A few years ago, I was on California on business, and on a day off, I toured the sites of the movie. My wife happened to call me on the phone at one point and ask where I was. When I told her excitedly that I was at Marty McFly's house, she just said "what a nerd."
It has been a given for some time that there will not be a 4th BTTF (unlike Indiana Jones), primarily due to the health of Michael J. Fox.
If my wife won't let me get another Corvette, I may threaten her with a Delorean. That might steer her back towards another Vette. She will know that if I get a Delorean, a Flux Capacitor won't be far behind.
Ok, now I've gotten this off my chest and the grieving can begin.
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Hey Marshall I was just watching the news on that fire, quite a shame, a lot of movie history destroyed there. But they said that the Clock Tower was only slightly damaged. They will rebuild it all, it burned in 99 also I believe. cilrah 2008-06-01 18:38:08

Well, as memory serves me correctly,
a thick high-voltage wire, and ONE MILLION JIGAWATTS will have that tower working again.

I believe the number you are searching for is
1.21 Jigawatts.
And besides, where are we gonna get that kind of power!?!? The only thing that generates that kind of power is a bolt of lightning. Unfortunately, you never know where or when lighting is going to strike.

I think if we find the right Vette and get it going fast enough at the same time the lightning hits we won't need no stinking Delorean!

Wow. I am humbled at the boss-man's quoting abilities.
As for the 'stinkin' Delorean, we at least do have the man to thank for much of the Corvette's history. If you look at pictures of prototype Corvettes from the late 60's, you will see a model that looks almost to be in stainless silver with louvres... It almost looks like it needs gull wing doors...
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
OK sorry if I hit a soft spot with the Delorean crack, I was saying it in a "we don't need no stinking badges" kind of humarous way. Of course the Delorean was really a dream car come true, if it had carried on through the years who knows what kind of car it would have evolved into.

Adam,
I stand corrected,
1.21 Jigawatts.
You have out-geeked me again

Alan
BTW- A friend of mine owns 2 Deloreans....one's a driver, and the other is the parts car. One good thing aboot the C3's---at least there 1.21 million parts available for them.
I understand the park is back open, Universal that is. I bet business is actually pretty good right now, that was quite a fire.
