Vette(s): 82 Collector Edition (*sold 12/2006)
My mom was having starting trouble with her 98 Ford Taurus, and she got talked into going to a local battery store to find a new battery. But instead they gave her some choices on different charging plans and how long each lasts. She took the "charge it for a day and it's guaranteed for 2 years" plan. So they spent the whole day charging it. It's been a few months now and the battery seems to be working fine with no problems. Is this a normal thing to offer folks when you go around shopping for a new battery? I've never heard of it, but I usually just go get a Die Hard. |smile|

I never heard of it either. Sounds like they wanted to be a "good samaritan". If the battery dies again, well look out, greater problems like an alternator. Is she sure it is the battery and not something else?

I haven't heard of that service either. But if it works, that's all that matters. I got my first Die Hard for my daily driver the other day. After I bought it I found out that I really didn't need it, but it was much bigger than the old previous battery so I'm gonna find out how good the Die Hards are!!

I've heard from my current honey and from people in the club also that run them and they all swear by Die Hards. They say that they actually last longer than they are supposed to. We'll both see now good they are. Like we'll remember this post. |laugh|

Do I need to do anything with mine since she's been sitting in a shop for 8 weeks??????

Do you mean do something to your car before starting, or something to the battery? I doubt you'll have to do anything. My vette has sat for more than that and it fired right up. On a cheaper battery too!!

Well if we are talking about the Vette, I use a Direhard Silver in mine. I also use a battery disconnect switch in conjuction with it because I don't run her every day. You know how those electrical gremlins are in our cars |cussing|
