FYI, bring back the tempers and heat.  This is a forum for things other then vettes.  They boy was just describing a paticular moment he was having with his vette and some girl.

While I do consider the later part of the scenario to be what I consider childish, you can learn from it.  One you don't need the cheating girl to have fun.  You probably actually did not have the other on your mind at that moment in time.  If the girl likes you great, If she's good friend material and you have a lot in common you all should spend more time hanging out.  One to keep your mind off the other and soon the other will never be and you will be living life and having more fun and less upset stomaches then when you were in turmoil over the other.  Wow that was a mouth full, but I hope you get the point.

I think your reply back to indy99 could have used a little more tactfulness, I think the two of you might want to consider appologizing to each other.

On another note CR1970, you should go back and re-read what you posted about older and wiser.  I think most of us on here (the older and the wiser) have given our thoughts and have all come to the same conclusion, and I'm not 100% sure you're listening or understanding what we are telling you.  Your life, would you go all in on that gamble?

indy99,
You are relatively new here.
You will find that any subject is OK to talk about, within normal moral guidelines.
We are truly family here and we try to help everyone whenever we can.
If you visit CorvetteRacer1970's site, you will see he is AOK, IMHO.

This tread is the perfect example of young and older, personally I don't think there is a need for any appologies, they said what they thought, wasn't too personal, us order guys look back and say " man that was the best time of my life," for Race-R that time is now, for most of us its just a memory, we made some mistakes, I'd change somethings if I could but that ain't gonna happen, but for the most part us older guys aren't doing to bad right now, the had part is keeping it this way till we punch out, checked out Race-R homepage, looks like he's havin fun to me.

Aaahhh..........nuttin like a little controversy
This is particular forum is a general, non-Vette discussion(sic ) and we talk about a lot of different things here, from political views, to telling "blond" jokes. If no-one wanted to discuss this topic, there would have been no replies, and it would have gone away. CR70 had a problem, and asked for some advice, and got quite a bit! Take it or not, up to him.

Lets play nice!

Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.

here is a thought:  with all of the reality T.V. being so happening now, maybe you could make a few bucks out of this fun little time of your life.  There are a few life rules I USED to live by (don't any more, wife would kill me)

between the ages of 20-25 you have a sex partner field range from 18- 40 plus, got for it and be safe.

don't do one night stands, that is unmoral, three days then kick them out.

Vette(s): 1970 stingray, t-top, mulsanne blue with black interior, 406 ci with 444 hp, racing suspension, hooker headers/sidepipes - SOLD :(

to quote a certain song..."when did reality become TV?"

anyway...we've reached the conclusion that, for the current moment in time, we will remain friends and nothing more.  maybe farther down the line, when we're not tied down by school, when she's worked on her loyalty, and when we've both matured a bit, somethin will happen...that's in God's hands.  in the meantime...there is a good friendship that's been lying underneath this relationship, and we're going to work on keeping that intact.  Admittedly I do love her deeply, and it won't be easy to back off, but the Big Man Upstairs knows what's best for me...and if she's the one He wants me to be with, I don't need to worry.  If not, I still don't need to worry.  Problem solved.

She's still coming out, because I spent the money on the plane ticket...there's some movies we wanna watch, and she really wants to see the stingray, since she's never seen it, except for pictures.  Should be fun.

no one night stands...three days then kick them out?  ironic...she'll be here for...three nights...

anyway.  back to the one thing that REALLY matters.

I put about 300 miles on the new engine today...prolly get another 100 on it before the weekend is out, plus the 100 I already had on it thus far...Tuesday I'm gonna take it to BTP Racing, let them service the rear end (and change the oil as long as they've got it there and on a lift), double check everything, and then throw some ignition timing at it (timing's turned back to protect the engine)...and hopefully she'll be wide awake and ready to make me happy.

ordered my butterfly scoop from Summit today, next day air...

http://store.summitracing.com/largeimage.asp?part=MRG-6651

I'll get it Wednesday, and take it in to the body shop, let him cut the hood to fit the scoop, and paint those red flaps blue instead.  can't wait!  now I gotta decide...underbody lights?  I've seen it come out rather nicely on some classic cars, and since the stingray isn't exactly stock anymore...do I throw some blue neon under there or what?  I wouldn't mind some opinions.

here's a picture, as up-to-date as it gets right now.

I'm hurt!  I've always believed that underbody neon isn't a bad thing, so long as the car has the balls to back up the showiness.  I daresay I've accomplished that...

Thank you all for the diversion from all the crap that's taking place along the Gulf coast - my brain needed a rest and you gave it to me.

IMO - you will need to grow up someday (much sooner than seems fair) so have a blast and try to learn something along the way.

I realize now I wish I had....
