Eric - ditto on all of the above. Over the years we have been fortunate to share the love of many pets, losing only four (two dogs and two cats). They work their way into your heart and never leave.

Eric, so sorry to hear of your loss. Just last week in chat I was happy to hear he was doing good! I've even told my wife of his situation and she continued to ask about him. We are both dog lovers. You have our sympathy. Mike

As a dog lover, I understand. We currently have an eight year old German Shephard and a 5 month old Black Lab.

As animal owners you know we do all we have to do for them their entire lives. We fulfill their every need. And sometimes in the end there is just one more thing we must do for them--and that is not to let them suffer.
You did what you had to do.

Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts. As many of you stated, this is really difficult to go through. I feel very fortunate because of the caring and support from family and friends like you has really helped. I've received many private emails and offers for calls, talks, etc. This has really meant a lot.

While I would never want anyone to have to go through this, I know that many of you on here will. It's a grim thought, but maybe this will help. You won't be alone - there are so many wonderful & caring people on this Forum.

Thanks again to everyone - this has really meant so much to me and my family.
