At least for me..
On those late 40 Buicks that have the side opening hoods. How do you work on the OTHER side of the engine???
Does the 70-72 Chevelle have the Monte Carlo dash or does the 70-72 monte carlo have the Chevelle dash??
Does the sold sticker they put on the window have an adheivise back or are they static cling.I would be pi%%ed off if I had to use a razor blade to take that off of my $500,000 car!!

Can't answer your questions about the 40's Buicks, never worked on one.
I believe the Monte's and Chevelle's had unique dash boards
I'm sure they use removable adhiesive on the sold stickers.

Now for my obsevations/rants. With all the issues around this country how does a guy justify blowing 5mil on a car that will never be driven. We just had a member loose his life due to a tragic fall and suffer brain trauma. Wouldn't a donation to medical research be better served here instead of pissing away bundle of cash on a single car. I am signing off as a viewer of BJ from this point forward. This show of greed and over excessive spending really kind of turns me off of classic cars. They are just cars and should be enjoyed for what they are instead of looking to make a quick buck. I will bet that the majority of the cars sold will be back on the block in less than a year and BJ will sell them again and they will make even more 18% commisions.

Bravo! Bravo! I couldnt agree with you more, Silver 69!! Bravo!

I could not agree with you more.  Any car that is that rare, that special, should be a museum piece, and sorry, but who owned it or that its the last one off the line or first etc, that doesnt make it so extremely rare.

As an example, i look at the last Stingray, or the first Mustang 500.  If Ford auctioned that honor off with 100% going to a very needy charity, like what happen with that $60K Pace Car, that I could understand.  But,  greed for greeds sake makes me sick.

[/QUOTE] I'm not far behind you my brother.Greig Barret just stood there counting all his money and when the price didn't set well with him he took the micraphone and started all his speil about how the car is worth much more than the price bla bla bla.He gets what $15-20 for a $3.00 t-shirt,all the money for the people that just want to come and look around, whats that $30.00 a pop.Theres no telling how much other money he gets for puttin on the "SHOW".And the people that paid for all the chairty stuff?Hey it's a 100% write off so they get the car for free.I was happy to see the late 50's early 60's land crusiers get their time in the spot light but no way are those cars worth that much.I know somebody will say they are worth what someone is willing to pay but you have to look at the people who are paying. They are the ones that our dad told us about(theres and a%% for every seat)You see the guy that bought that GM truck for $30.000 that can't be licenced to drive on the street.Thats a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Now if I can only find the answer to the Buick hood thing. Will I watch Palm Beach? Not so much.Angry zgator2007-01-22 16:37:52

The 40 Buick Hood actually comes off completely if you need to work on both sides at the same time.

What was sad, the Darryl Gwyn Truck (1990 454 SS) waiting till sunday when all the big Hitter$ were done and gone, poor guy basically begged for the $40,000 he got for the truck....

Now if it was friday or saturday "prime time" it would have been a better show for the DG foundation.... I felt all the "charity" vehicles should have been considered for the Prime time...... thats just me..

then  the show ended in a sucky way with that dang "gravity cars" I mean, get real....  all the rock and roll stuff... Sorry if I wanted to see Lennons Piano, Id just look at my dogs poop in the yard, its about of equal value to me.

ok, rant is over.....

Ya beat me to it 74stingray454.

I remember DG's crash, I was a big follower of NHRA back then.  What that guy has gone thru to be here today, and that he doesn't sit around feeling sorry for himself but tries to make the world a better place should give all the rich @$$holes dropping big bucks and having to be begged to give a pittance to the guy in the wheelchair cause they feel guilty is CRAP!

Maybe, instead of his last pair of wrestling boots, he could have given $10k like Tony Stewart (although NASCAR fines are usually $25k/50k to the drivers) and maybe BJ could give 3 or 4 hours of their take to the foundation.AngryAngryAngry

ok, it's out of my system mostly...

I am glad to see I am not the only one who thought a pair of sweaty , smelly boots was kind of a unsult....

yeah, BJ could have donated something as well..... I didnt see Craig Barrett open his checkbook to donate, yet was asking folks to hand over $1k to that lady to get the bid over 40k
