XK-120, The car that started the whole 'Vette steamroller! Harly Earl had one, and wanted the 'Vette (1953) to look like it. Some of the design elements made it to the 1953-55 'Vettes. Nice pic!

Yep XK-120 drophead coupe.  The next model (XK-150) was a similar shape but with less pronounced curves along the door line.  The 150 is much more common and 120s are getting very expensive.

They have an Ash frame (wood) and if you saw one off it's chassis you would think it was a truck chassis.

It is a Jaguar XK150, as the 150 is the only one with a split windscreen.

Sorry to disappoint you corvette427 but the 150s had a on piece windscreen and different bodylines.  Plus they didn't come out until 1958.

Yes Adam's Apple,  what the English back in those days called a Drophead Coupe.

Drophead Coupe (DHC) Convertible or removable hard top

Fixedhead Coupe (FHC) Hardtop.

I had a 50-50 chance!  Just picked the wrong 50!  I knew the 150 windscreen was different.  I better stick to Vettes.

Vette(s): 73 Conv, Blue-Green/White Top - 454, M21 - Dark Saddle Leather, Power Windows, A/C, Tilt/Tele, AM/FM St. (orig. and sounds like it too).#2 -- 2007 Coupe,3 LT package, Z51 option, Victory Red, Ebony Int. Clear Top.

We have a '53  XK-120 FHC... sitting next to the  Vette, but I need to finish the resto... kind of lost interest once I got the Vette...Actually I inherited this rest (Jag) when I met my fiancee. It's about 70% ready. Not sure if I will finish it or sell as is. Needs complete interior and chrome put back on...

You think Vettes are expensive hobby... try a Jag. They are out of this world...
