glaze polish #7 as the final step, works really well. Shine on you crazy
diamond.
I first heard of the "lemon peel" finish from a Vette magazine, then while pricing for a paint job, only one shop had mention this original finish. He said for original value keep the pebbles, for a more modern and shinier look, he suggested to smooth the body out prior to painting. The zymol I used was only $15.00 for a bottle, however, they do have some ridiculous prices. One wax they offer cost over $1500.00 ! This is for a small jar, they will refill it for free. That makes me feel better, NOT !
I'll give Meguiars a try.
Would you suggenst anything different for the lacquer paint jobs?
Thanks! carl
The picture you see in my sig isn't using any trick photography, a basic digital 3 mega pixel camera, and that paint job is 20 years old! The car was repainted in 1985 and what you see is what it looks like just after a wash at a self serve car wash - no special cleansers, waxes, polishes, etc.
Now don't get me wrong - it's not perfect. If you look closely there are plenty of nicks, dings, etc. But as for the shine, that's real.
The secret - PAINT JOB! If you're thinking about getting a new paint job, don't skimp - don't go cheap - and you certainly better NOT get Macco!
Go to a professional that can do it right and you will get years and years of an amazing shine with little work needed. At least that's been my experience and I have the picture below (and a few friends on here who have seen her live) to prove it.
