They say vinyl has better acoustic qualities than digital as digital filters out too much sometimes...
I sure do remember the 8 track recorders.Never had one myself but a friend did.I would have him record some of my records onto 8 track. The one big problem with it was that you are recording along just fine and you run out of room on track one.It switches to track two and it would cut off some of the song. The factory 8 tracks weren't like that because they knew how much time they had on each track. We didn't.Man what a step back.I love it!!!!

i have mine in plastic containers on edge. make sure they stray straight as they can warp. also make sure they are not stored in very hot places. flat would be ok too as long as surface you lay them on is flat. if we were to name all the great bands that were around this would become the rock and roll forumThumbs%20Up. cream, traffic, elo, etc. as was said to me when i was young, "they don't make music like that anymore."
For you younger guys,It plays the big black round things that are called ALBUMS.
When my kids were younger, one of them was whining about something, asking the same thing over and over again.  I said "You sound like a broken record!"  They had this blank look on their faces and asked "What's a broken record?"  LOL  Now they are very familiar with vinyl.  Several years ago, my husband bought me a refurbished jukebox that plays 45s.  I love it!
