I went out at 6am on Black Friday to wait in line for 6 hours to get a new laptop computer for $400 off.

Does that count as Christmas shopping?
Or does it just count as me being an idiot?

Well I guess I'll jump in here for my $.02. Currently taking a break fom hanging lights and getting out the yard stuff. I do this for my girls, even though they are both teenagers, they really are little girls when it comes to the Holidays, and I will do anything for "My Little Girls" I hope to get this done by Saturday, because it's back to work on Monday and I am really stacked up at work. I may take the Vette out for a little spin later just to smile.

PS. Adam you are a "Thrifty shopping idiot"

I don't have time this year to shop for all you great Vette enthusiasts.
I spend way too much time reading messages and typing (one finger at a time) replies.

Ben - we are with you! After years of trying, finally got the family to agree - the holidays aren't about gifts - it's about family.

This year has been particularly tough on our family and that may have helped make the decision - no gifts. Well, except for the little kids. Don't want to take that away from them.

We are still planning to get together, but we're cutting out the crazy shopping, the stress of what to buy, etc. I guess it's going to be more like "Thanksgiving".

Even after the tough year it has been, I think this New Holiday approach will make it really special.

I totally applaud those who see the holiday season as something other than "so, what do you want for Christmas this year?"

update I have all my crap out and up and lite and I didn't even blow a fuse, must mean I need more crap, and I want to let all know that I too dislike the whole commerical thing and I got myself sort of trapped in this decorating thing from the daycare we ran to the parade route and tour buses that drive looky lous around to see them.

What I really wanted to say was in response to Eric about it being about family and not gifts, this year is the first year with our new grand daughter, she is around eight months old, and so we wanted to start a new family tradition that she will grow up with from grandma and grandpa, that is we are only going to give three gifts, the reason for that is that is all the baby Jesus got and we do not deserve more than him.
