computer locks up constantly while on the net. ran:antivirus,spybot,adaware-used different reset points-defraged.  My operating system is ME , when it locks up alt/cont/delete doesn't even work only the OFF button will work. Also before the problem started the computer remembered my password for dial-up now it doesn't allow me to click on that option.

It's ME..that's the problem.  Upgrade to XP if you can...you'll be mutch happier.  ME is well known to have been fielded with too many problems.

 Just my humble opinion as a computer guy.

Does it only happen when you are on the net?

What do you use to connect to the net? Cable, DSL, Dial-up, etc?

Who is your service provider? Comcast, AOL, MSN, Verizon, etc?

What browser do you use? IE, AOL, Netscape, etc?

Have you made sure you have the latest patches to WinME installed?  If you are using IE, do you have the lastest updates for that installed?
