bought one of those panasonic mini DVD camcorders that record right on to the DVD, you have to format it in either video or some other type of format, the video format allows it to be viewed in most DVD players, the other one is suppose to allow you to edit it but only in the camera(?)
My question is: Is there a program that isn't 500.00 plus that will allow me to take that disc in either formats and do something with it besides play it, I guess what I am trying to do is film Lacey's business and then want to put the disc into the computer and splice, cut, edit, delete, so I can unless it for a presentation we have coming up in October, and I would also like to maybe figure out how to ad a little video cut like a podcast type to her web site, oh yeah and it would help if the program was super easy to use I aren't the sharpest knife in the draw. thanks ya'll

Larry - Not exactly sure of the type of digital recorder you have, but if you have a PC running Windows XP, there is a built in program called Windows Movie Maker that will allow you to do some simple editing.

The program is pretty easy to use. You can import video from a camera, disc or other video source and then edit the video and add titles, sub-titles, transitions, etc.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: You can add an audio track as well.

yeah, what Biff said, Windows movie maker. I've taken video from my digital still type camera(think it records in .mpg format) and created dvd videos...
