I just saw a story on the news about a sex offender that raped and killed a ten year old boy over ten years ago (and was sentenced to death, but is still alive), appealing the ruling due to mental illness.  Wow am I tired of this!

It reminded me of this little tidbit that I found in the news last October, so I thought I would share:

LUCASVILLE, Ohio -- Ohio has executed a religious cult leader for killing a family of five who followed his teachings.

The youngest victim was a 7-year-old girl.

Jeffrey Lundgren, 56, was put to death just hours after the U.S. Supreme Court rejected a last-minute appeal for a delay so Lundgren could join a lawsuit challenging Ohio's use of lethal injection.

The lethal injection took about six seconds to kill him, authorities said. The official time of death was 10:26 a.m. The entire process took 25 minutes.

It cost $385,000 to keep Lundgren incarcerated for 16 years. His execution cost $74.16.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Hey Manget, What I would have liked better is to have tied this guy to a corner post in a busy city and let anyone that walked by him, hit him, slug him, whatever, until he passed out, then wake him up and start the procedure all over again. Do this every day until people tire of hitting him then stone him to death. Cost nothing!!!!GeneAngry gs77vet2007-06-28 17:38:26

Opponents to the death penalty have never witnessed first hand what man is capable of doing to this fellow man.

Should otta set a defined timey when the sentence be executed. (With no exception) That should hold true throught the justice system. I realize in saying this there may be honest to goodness mistakes that have occured. Unfortunitly that holds true in all facets of life.

But then again what new way would we find to waste the money saved? Apply the money to health care or no taxes and I'll vote MANGET1 for office...

Our country has turned it back on God and the principals upon which our Founding Fathers started this great country.
