To the fella in Florida. Florida has one of the lowest unemploment rates in the country and the rate of 5.6% nationally is lower that the avergage 5.7% rate under Clinton.

Bottom line is we really need to start throwing anyone in out and keep voting in new blood til we get what we want. Keep voting for the same people we get what we deserve.

If you really want to take the money out of politics take the power/money out of Washington DC.

Maybe those of you around the country who like more and more governemnt should see the way the bureacrats live. We have two of the top ten levels of average income in the country around here. Where do u think they get their money? From everyone else. They create no wealth. Perhaps the rest of the country should see the average single family stand alone house that costs $400,000 and realize that their money is not going to help as the politicians claim. It is going to folks that create no wealth and spend other peoples money. Check out the Social Security Office and see how much of your hard earned cash is wasted on buildings and government workers. Trust me when I say that a large part of the government is make work programs for the otherwise unemployable. If any of us tried a ponsi-scheme like Social Security we would be thrown in jail!

If you had to write a check for all the taxes versus the withholding tax, maybe you would sing a different tune.

If you thought you had $1,000 in your pocket and when you got home you only had $500 you would think you were robbed. That is what the government does. It steals 50% of our hard earned cash and we have almost no say in how it is spent.

Since when do I go to my next door neighbor and tell them they are responsible for my healthcare, retirement, or anything else. If your neighbor came over and asked you would probably call them free-loaders or worse.

If you want the illegal alien issue resolved vote for those who will resolve it and hold their feet to the fire. If they do not abide by your wishes throw them out. Keep dong it until it is fixed.

It is a great country and when the press asked one of the country's founders what kind of government we have he said a representative republic if we can hold on to it. It requires vigilance and a willingness to stop asking for handouts from our fellow citizens. The last thing we need is another limosine liberal who says do as I say because I already have mine and the hell with you keeping what you have earned because then you might be as wealthy as me. I am better than you don't you know!

Here is what I love about taxes.

I get a check and they take out FICA, State, Local, School, and County Taxes almost 40%. So 40 % of my work week is spent earning money for uncle Sam.

Now heres the kicker........ I get my electric, water, sewer, cell phone and cable bills, even our gas we use in our cars.....they too tax you for the same stuff state, county, school, local, and my favorite usage take. Not only do I pay taxs once I pay them again on all my bills from other companies, mostly utility companies. The government taxes them and then they tax us. Isn't this considered Double Taxation. I thought that was illegal.

Whats us with usage tax, of course I'm going to USE IT, thats why I asked for the service to begin with. How the $%^# do they get off charging me a tax for something they sell to make money. Even my daggum cars have a renewal fee or a usage tax that has to be paid every year. Do they think we are going to purchase something and not use and when we do use it they punish us for it by making us pay a tax year after year for something we own free and clear.

I'm for anyone that reduces the size of government. I'm for bush, but I voted for our Democrat Gov. here in TN. Why because he was a shrewd business owner and I knew he would run the TN gov like a business and stick to a budget. We have a budget in my house, why can't all Government branches stick to a budget.

The goverment lets us keep just enough so that the general populous is apathetic about what the government is doing with our money. until everyone wakes up to the facts, that aftershark and Blennox brought up, and forces a change- we will continue to be bent over by big goverment.

did anyone watch the VP debate.. one thing that struck me while watching it. if these two people would actually take their ideas and combine them.. they might actually succeed.

case in point. tort reform.

cheney - limit non-economic damages, cap attorney percentage.

edwards - require independent review before case submission, punish attorneys for filing frivolous suits.

all these are good ideas.. but to work.. they all need to implemented..

Unfortunately the republicans are too beholden to the insurance companies and the democrats are too beholden to the trial lawyers.

so we get what we always get.. nothing.
