we should just settle for whichever sub human dirt bag has sold enough favors to get the biggest bank roll.

we should not even try to engage anyone with integrity and decency in the political process. we definitely should try to make sure that only rich white guys ever have a chance of seeking the presidency. We definitely should make sure that we do not under any circumstance elect anyone with an IQ OVER 100.

Where I live the economy is doing quite well. We enjoy one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state which is also close to an all time low. A year ago I was laid off because my client base had declined to the point that the firm could no longer justify my salary. Is that the government's fault? NO. It's just the nature of business. The Economy is cyclical. It has ups and downs. We learn to ride it out and adapt. In this part of the country we tend to rely on ourselves. We don't feel "entitled". My parents taught me that you must work hard and provide for yourself. No one owes me a job or living or a certain standard of living. It took me four months to find another position. Not because there were no jobs available but because I chose to pass on some jobs in order to wait for the better job. My choice, not a bad economy. The government passed a law a few years back called NAFTA. The law essentially opened the borders to free trade. Illegal immigration was and is a problem. Part of what NAFTA hoped to accomplish was to create an environment where American companies would establish businesses in Mexico. Those businesses create jobs for Mexicans and begin to build a middle class of Mexican citizens near our borders. An established middle class in Mexico near our borders would give Mexicans a reason to stay in Mexico rather than illegally cross our borders and become a drain on our social services. Everyone gets real upset when an American job goes to a foreign country but no one stops to think about the bigger picture and ideals trying to be accomplished. I don't worry so much about what Mr. Kerry's presidency might or might not do to the economy. I think the economy pretty much runs on autopilot and I don't think that a president has much to do with it. Alan Greenspan has much more influence over the economy. Watch what happens in the stock market any time he speaks. I am more concerned with Mr. Kerry's record in the senate on what he votes for and against. By and large he votes against bills designed to strengthen our defenses and votes for bills to raise taxes for social experiments with dubious proven benefits to the country as a whole like national healthcare. Rather than raise everyones taxes so that everyone can have mediocre health care why don't we reform tort laws so that doctors don't have to pay for malpractice insurance and then perhaps they could lower their fees. President Bush is not perfect (who is?) but he's done a good job. He's a known quantity. Mr. Kerry has a record in the senate that in my mind contradicts what he is saying in his speeches and his debates. That makes him an unknown quantity. In other words, given the same situations President Bush faced, I don't know where Mr. Kerry would have landed when it came to making the tough choices. If I'm not confident that I know how he would respond to a given crisis then why would I vote for him? Mr. Kerry's comment in the debate regarding the "global test" was at best a really bad way to explain his position on preemptive strikes to secure our safety and at worst was very telling about just how he would cede our security to the global community.
