Sorry to hear it Larry. Cops need to drive a Vette so they can understand the urge. I got popped 3 weeks ago. 50 in a 35 not even messing around just cruising. However take a defensive driving class, even for one ticket and save the points. My wife couldn`t get mad at me as she has more points than i do, Driving a Red pick up( something about red, she got caught all the time in the red firebird too).

 Good luck,   Bob

Too bad the judge isn't a member of C3VR.

Sorry to hear you got nailed. If you travel I90 east watch out around Ellensburg, the state police seems to have an officer there most of the time.

I can sympathize with you - as can a few other of my C3VR friends on here who went for an innocent little summer cruise last year and all 4 of us got nabbed at the same time!  I won't say who was leading the pack of delinquents

First off, I would suggest you check this site out.  While I wouldn't guarantee it could help, it just might and could be worthwhile.

http://www.beatmyspeedingticket.com

Secondly, I have a question for anyone reading this.  I happen to know that the cop who stopped us is no longer with the police force.  Our court date is in a few weeks and obviously he's not going to be there.  One of the other drivers went to court (well, he had his attorney go) and the judge wouldn't dismiss the case completely.  He reduced the fine to "parking on the pavement" - no points, and $150.00 charge.

I thought that if the arresting cop wasn't there that the case would be dismissed.  Anyone have any insight or more information on this?

Good luck with yours - let me know if the website helped!

Larry,  Sorry to hear about your back to back tics.  Makes me think twice about how fast i have been driving.  My wife yells at me all the time, which i have been ignoring.  Better yet, i think i'll make her start driving more.   Since we all seem interested in speeding tickets, i have to tell my best story.

My best speeding ticket story was when a cop pulled me over just outside of this little town in no-whereville western NV.  The jist of it was i was pulling my 30 foot 5th wheel trailer up a hill in my dodge and he passed me going the opposite direction when he turned around with lights flashing.  He said i was doing 72 in a 55.  I argued with him that there was NO WAY even though he was probably right (go cummins)!   He wrote me the ticket and i made damn sure he noted the mile marker where he got me on radar.  A letter to a judge whose name i got off the internet  explaining the scenario and a response that reduced it to a parking ticket and a $55 fine. "Checks was in the mail"!!!

Hope you too can figure out some angle.  Don't give in.  Fight til the end.

Watch out for this Memorial Day weekend...even the news broadcasters say the cops will be out full force! Some time back,I wasnt speeding but I had forgotten to replace the front plate that I changed out to a crossed-flags logo plate ans was just cruising along when an Island County Sheriffs Deputy patrol car passed me coming the other direction, did a 180,& came flying up behind me.He informed me of the requirement in this state to have TWO plates,& also that not wearing my seatbelt is a big no-no that would costs me more cash.I told him the plate was left on from the last car show...But,somehow the subject changed to my yellow 77 that got totalled and was in the Skagit Valley newspaper front page, and my year long recovery. He let me off with a warning! Whew!

Vette(s): 1980 Red T-Top with 42000 miles. No modifications and will probably stay that way.

Ouch on the tickets man, here in Alberta they pretty much give you 10 mph on the highway unless conditions are such that you should be on the line or under. My Cobra is officially designated as an "Emergency Vehicle Locator" as the company I work for has some sort of radar detector policy but nothing for an EVL  . Have a safe Memorial Day!!
