I know this has been asked before, but who else builds models? This is a 1:8 Scale Monogram 78 Pace Car Model. It's been sitting round just too long so I started it about a week ago and thats my progress so far.
This thing is huge, thats a 17" monitor in the background. It's so big it won't fit in my glass display case that I have all my other Pace Cars in.
Lets see what you all have done

darn...I thought you were doing a frame-off on an AMC Pacer! Guess the joke's on me!

Doing a great job, Mark. I used to build models, but haven't done any in a few years. A lot of fun. Be sure to post a picture when you get it done.

Oh ya I will, I think I've got a guy who is going to pinstrip the redline around the Pace Car. I don't want to trust the 20 yr old decals for that. Painting this is going to be the hardest part, think my son's gonna airbrush it.

That is really cool. Must be so much better working with a larger scale model like that. How much does a model like that run and can a poor man buy one?

Aaron, I usally see like three or four of these on eBay, but theres only one right now 78 Corvette Model. They range in price from $50 - $100. I was lucky and got mine for $52. They are really rare because they have been out of production for quite awhile now.

I bought one of these back about 87-88 when you could still get em in the hobby shop. Think I paid $19.95.
Did it up like my black79 with red interior. Gave it to the kid next door when we moved in 92. He would always wheel on over in his wheel chair whenever I had the real ones in the driveway.
He had a poster made of himself between my 79 and the previous 78SA that I had back then. Wonder if he still has that stuff, now as an adult.
