We had 6 tornados pass through the Chicago area Saturday afternoon. The closest passed about 3 miles north of me. I can't describe the fear looking at that approaching BLACK sky knowing there's nothing you can do about anything! Seeing the clouds swirling and hoping nothing forms. Kept a watch as the one passed just north with lightening flashing!
Damage was sporadic. One poor guy on the news was sitting there being interviewed with his 02 Vette in the background squashed underneath his garage roof. He had just detailed it!
Kinda makes me want to spread mine around, getting them out of one location!
Heavy rains and flooding last week and now this!
More storms and warnings today and still tonight, too. A big all cars swap meet near me cleared out FAST when the skys blackened again this afternoon!
What a miserable wet year this has been so far!

Yeah Mike, I can take one for ya.

How did our friends in IN make out with all the rain and flooding?

Glad that you missed the Chicago storms. Same on this end with respect to the tornado. We live about three miles N of tornado path that came out of Brown County and went on through Princes Lake, Camp Atterbury (Army training facility with estimated 20 million damage), and Edinburgh. The tornado was this past Tuesday. Then to add to the damage, our area got about 10 inches of rain. Massive flooding South of Indy in Martinsville, Franklin, Edinburgh, Princes Lake (dam broke) and Columbus.
We had a couple lakes formed in our back yard and afew inches of water in the crawlspace, but no damage. I know there were many cars flooded in the area. We didn't lose our electric, but didn't have water for a day or so. It came back on last night.
The pace car rode out the storm fine in the garage. Moved it outside for awhile yesterday while I had some fans moving damp air out of the crawlspace.
Another round of thunderstorms and rain coming later today.

darn Mike, you Debbie must have been joking with me when I asked you about tornados in your area
That would be a shame to see a tornado go through your area, I know I've seen your collection in the barn. Take that Pace Car off its jacks and load it with Deb and the dogs and run like hell. Just kidding Mike, I hope the best for ya'll. I'd hate to see anything happen at your place.

Oh ya, Dave, I got first dibs on storing the Pacer here in the NW where we get a tornado like once every 12 yeaqrs or so

Lots of flood and wind damage up here in the Mitten too. I have a farmer friend and 50 acres of his crop land are under water. More rain in the forecast.
We discovered a new month here in the NW, it's called Junuary. It's squeezed in between May and whats susposed to be June

Count your lucky stars Mike. We've had a run of nasty weather up here as well. Had two trees come down out near our barn last Friday night. The horses were out in the other pasture and fortunately the only thing the trees hit was the ground. Laid down right alongside the fence that divides the pastures so for once I didn't have any fencing to rebuild.
Say a few thoughtful words for those who haven't been quite so lucky with the weather lately.

Sure glad those beautiful cars didn't get smashed!!! Crappy weather for sure last weekend. I was up North in Lake/Cook county and we got a lot of rain and some wind, but none of those nasty "T"'s. Glad to hear that you didn't get any damage. I thought of you when I saw the news on all day showing the path of the storms...
