I would say you got your priorities right. Looks like the garage is bigger than the house.
Looks like you're doing it right with the full frost wall foundation. Them 2 Vettes look like their gonna need some company in there.

Its just the angle of the photo, the house is actually much larger than the garage. I don't have a good photo showing the size but I did find this one. The garage is just to the left of the house in this pic.
I would have like to had it bigger
.

The foundation on one side is 8 ft in the ground and 6 ft at the front. I had to do a lot of fill after , 15 tandem loads of dirt on the west wall.
The way all this got started was that I found another Corvette that I wanted and the wife said we have no where to put it and it was not going to sit outside in the weather if we got it. So... We started this project.

Great looking house and shop.
Jeez, my lawnmower shop is only 20' x40'. Wish I had made it larger too. After all, the lumber was almost free! Cut down five pine trees in the woods behind my house and had it bandsaw milled by my slab. $619 for enough lumber to frame including siding and roof decking. You'll enjoy that extra room I'm sure. Looking Good!

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...
Scott,
Are you doing all the work?
With that hill, you could have put in a walk out basement. Did you consider that?
Or a pit so you didn't need a lift for oil changes.
Looking good.

I am not doing the work, I hired a contractor and said "this is what I want, make it happen " Then I turned to Suzy with my best sad puppy dog eyes and said I bought something, can you cover the check

Dave

We almost put enough fill in around it to have a basement, but the costs so far are almost equal to a house of the same size. Suzy has been really great about it so far.

Don't change yer oil????? Don't you know that's bad fer the car??!!

What kind of self-respecting C3 owner doesn't change his / her own oil??? Sounds like a poll question to me.
Very nice palace for the twins.
Looks like party central to me.

I'd sure put in a pit while I was at it (if'n you don't already have a high speed, low-drag lift). And most important, where will the beer cooler go?
Good job, Scott.

The codes/requirements for a pit might change your mind on putting one in. Do you know a pit is classified as an "explosion proof area"
The code building garages are pretty strict, it can all be done but with a lot more money than I am willing to pay. Try telling the inspector that you want a sink or a floor drain in the garage and see his face turn red. Things are so much different since everything is going "green"
Most people see a lift and a pit and all that stuff in a garage. I see a fridge , a big screen, just the right surround sound and a comfortable couch.

I have a friend here in town that has a garage for a business, he has a lift , all the tools we ever need and changes the oil in the Vettes with just as much loving care as I ever would and all I have to do in return is give him money. Sounds like the best laid plan to me.

I would have used spell check but it doen't work anymore on this site.

Was it a blue one...???
[/QUOTE]

Actually it was the Black C5 vert that I told you about. We did however find a blue 78 or maybe it was a 79 in NC when we went out there in December for $5500.00 and she said the same thing.

(fixed the quote box - Norsky)

Today was a total washout ,it rained 2 1/2 inches and is still raining here. I added one more pic to the link.
