[QUOTE=jayare]Did you ask the inspecter what happens if you have to pee?

On second thought don't bring it up, he'll make you remove your back door.

You know, I did ask him the difference between washing the cars and letting the water flow out the front doors and letting it go down the drain and go to about the same place outside.
he said the difference was that he wasn't here to enforce the runofff from the doors but he could stop me from using the drain...

Oh well....

By the way, is that why theres yellow snow outside my door? LOL

Great looking garage Scott, I'm envious of the size so I'm satisfied with 30x28 with a loft. As soon as I finish it  I'll post pics. Good luck and enjoyClap

Thanks !  The loft will be nice !
I look forward to seeing those pic.s
I have a file with several garage interiors that I have been collecting. I am always open for ideas, every time I complete one part of it and close one door, several other doors open . There are so many possibilities. There are companies out there that do nothing but install garage interiors. If (big if) I could afford that , I probably would never come back in the house.

Scott- you want ideas for the interior?

Big screen TV on the wall, theater style seating, large frig full of cold beer, computer station and printer, treadmill for the dog to walk on, lots of Corvette posters and signs, painted floor with your Vettes in the winner's circle, some display cases for your models and a two-way radio so Suzy can call you when dinner is ready.

Maybe a wrench hanging on the wall just for looks.LOL

Dave, I really like the way you think, fortunately the loft will take care of that, unfortunately the garage is attached to the house so she is still within striking distance  Ouch  Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing oh well I guess I can't have everything. Oh,Oh, guess who's looking over my shoulder!!!  " Busted "  Cry

Dave, you have no idea how close you are already.

Big screen is a done deal,
Frig... you know its going to be there,
no dog=no treadmill,
Blanketed in signs and posters..I actually have a neon shop working up some custom signage,
floor is still being discussed.. too many options to make the decision yet,
no models to speak of,
computer and high speed internet is a must,
I do  dinner... so she will already know it,
Rather large toolboxs , covered in stickers.. as soon as I get some help rolling the big one in there.

You did leave out one thing we went shopping for last night ...
The Fireplace!
The stereo, yep the neighbors will not like this one.LOL
We also were looking at furniture, maybe a way too big sectional for the entertainment area.
We didn't get one yet but its coming.
We did buy three Hunter ceiling fans.
I have a complete layout of the interior so far thanks to all the people that have posted their garage photos in the past.
I have 4 of 5 bids in on my heat and a/c and still have that to put in.
I also think a nice commercial type water cooler with the little disposable paper cups would be nice, I just want my little cups to have Corvettes on them.
I found a nice 1 post lift that I probably will get in the future. I already have the spot left open for it.

I also have a spot for a workbench and a welding table, as well as several cabinets.

It will be pretty full when its complete, but should be well organized and a great spot to hang out in the evenings.

I am a little low on space but still open for ideas.

I might install  a couple of strobe lights for those special nights that you just want to lay on the floor and watch the ceiling fans  rotate or not LOL

EDIT... There is one thing I do need to start thinking about ..

Suzy now has the two car attached garage to herself with nothing but her Volvo S80 in it. I should doll it up for her a little bit, don't you think?

Large toolboxes? I thought you had people who did the actual work on the cars.Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing
The water cooler is a nice tough. Get the peanut dispenser, the gumball machine, a pool table and the pinball machine.
An old gas pump and an antique coke machine for outside the front door.
And ya gotta have a paint booth!

Back when I worked in NASCAR racing, a man just wasn't a man witout a toolbox.LOL

P nuts mess up my tummy, I don't chew gum, Pool just isn't near as much fun after you get married Wink , and pinball requires way too much attention span. I am not into the nostalgia thing too much , everyone has done the gap pump, coke machine thing to death and you can't go in anywhere around here with out seeing a Route 66 sign. uggg.....

I have a paint booth in my shop in NC (over rated, its like a swimming pool, just make you more "friends"), I think my car painting days are over. There are people that do that sort of thing for a living and with the cost of supplies today its cheaper to let them in the long run.

Keep the ideas coming ! LOL

Scott... Just a thought about your ac/heating unit. When I built my 20x40 lawnmower shop, I used a 4 ton mobil home unit. Everything is one unit outside with duct work running through the attic. The ac is economical in the summer, but it will eat up electricity heating. But if you have a fireplace with forced air, that should keep your shop warm enough without using the heat. That was the cheapest central heat and air I could find. Had it installed by two brothers on the side for $500. Of course I paid for the materials. Thumbs%20Up

I know the voices aren't real, but they have some pretty cool ideas...

Thanks ! I will be going with propane for the heat, I just had a 1000 gal tank set and filled, ready to go.

I am counting on that fireplace to ramp it up when we are in there.
