I'm sittin' here in a boarded-up house with my wife and mother-in-law waiting on this big-bag-of-wind to finally come on shore. Could be worse I guess, the power could be out now. Let me take time to say, thank God for you guys and this site.

Yeah man, me too. House is like a fortress, corrugated steel on all windows, metal roof, looks like Ft. Knox. Went thru 5 of these up in NC. Wife is gettin' antsy, tired of being in same house with me all day long. Looks like downgraded, I filled all tanks with gas for generator, grill gas, PLENTY OF MILLER LITE, BUD LIGHT, CUERVO 1800, and some ditch wine. Grady tied down.
Looks like Stuart is gonna get swamped. Curfew enforced.

Thanks, Big Al, been making our stand here but the darn thing is undecided. Now's the time to get it, in its period of instability (wind shear).
Dang, Boat, I'm sittin' in the wrong house. Got room for one more?

Good luck with Francis you guys (and gals).
My mom, brother and sisters are in Pompano Beach and Deerfield beach. They are all storm shuttered in.
My youngest sister is on a canal with my brothers boat tied up a the dock. The storm surge may make it so they can float the boat thru the sliding doors into the house.
Good luck, we're all wishing the best for you folks.

We are now on generator power, and may be there for a while. Was without electric for 2 weeks in Carolina's once. It is kicking up out there now, gettin' pool surges, screen is covered with debris. It will get hairy tonight. I was gonna take the mailbox post and box out yesterday, but we need a new one. It will be gone before tomorrow morning. Wife went to back section of the house to sleep. Gonna get her up in a while to cook something on the stove outside. Couple of 12 oz. strips. Grain fed. She will try to hit me with a fryin' pan for waking her up. No satellite. Too many clouds.
I am busy taking care of the beer. Keepin' it cold, making sure nothing happens to it. My son in law will come down when the eye is overhead to help guard the suds. JRedding, we should see a long eye, enough time to get some of the palm fronds out to the front.

On the West coast we have been getting the outer bands of rain in spurts and then sunshine. Looking at a lot of flooding and wind gusts tonight and Sunday. Now we have Ivan follwing right behind. Stay safe and well..

We are starting to feel some of the squal bands in Orlando. I am not enjoying this at all. We just got hammered here three weeks ago. Took the vette out on Thursday night to get her filled up. Waited for 20 minutes in line only to find out they were out of super. Drove to another station - all out. Then the last station in this area I waited 30 minutes and was limited to $20 of gas, that should be good for 100 miles, I hope. As of Friday AM, there is no gas at any of the stations here. Well, time to hunker down, should be an interesting night. Good luck to everyone with this storm.
