DITTO the two above...!!! We can get some pretty nasty winter storms up here in Minnesota but they pale in comparison to those monsters from the Atlantic! Hope it peters out quick once it makes landfall.

Tornados and snow. I'll take that over earthquakes or Hurricanes. Ohio has it's advantages.
My prayers are with all of you in the nasty stuff. God bless and good luck.

Sorry it took so long to get back on, plenty of power surges and spikes...computer's possessed. That's what I like aboutcha Boatman, getting those priorities straight. Looks like you guys got the brunt of the storm with that huge eyeball. We got the southern portion of Frances which is a picnic compared to what ya'll are experiencing. Hope everything's ok, man, and that goes out to everyone else near it's path also.

Hope everyone down there makes it through. Do you do anything extra to protect the C3 other than screw the garage shut?
I'll drink one for you today!! |cheers|

We were in the soup. Lots of damage, big time. Biggest hassle is that it stayed around, kept churnin' and churnin'. Honda Generator takes care of 2 fridges, freezer, TV, satellite, computer, 4 lamps, 2 fans, coffee pot. Anymore then that is a stretch. The homes we owned in NC had loblolly pines, 60 to 70 feet high, and the canes took them out like matchsticks. We have many palms here, tore them up except for the Fishtails and Alexander's. King Majesty's took a hit, Papaya trees snapped in half, banana trees shot, but they are done for the year anyway, gotta eat a lot of bananas soon as they turn. Gonna hire a couple of chimps. 20 foot Foxtails are in bad shape, but the center cores are fine, so may be OK. Pool is overflowing it's sides, no electric to pump it. Screen is fine, over 1000 sq.ft. of that, and it pays to get the best contractor's to do jobs for you. I could go on and on. We are safe, rest of core family is safe.
Raining like H out there now, so have to stay in here with the redhead and watch the tube. We are not taking all the shutters down, as another one is on the way. Do not know what the status is, but will see. Our home is fine. It is all cement, metal roof, built like a fortress. We are a mile from the beach, so has to withstand minimum 145 mph winds. Thanks for all the well wishes.

Good to hear from you, Boss. Patience is your best friend after something like this. Yard's a mess! Foxtail fronds everywhere, majesty took a hit, coconut palms fine and the Roebellini date palms are true champs.

Keep in touch.

P.S. Thanks to everyone for their genuine concern.

genuine concern is the least that could be mustered when friends are in a situation like that. I'm glad so far we're recieving reports if nothing else!

Hope all is well down in FL. I have lots of family in the Jupiter area and all are well. Houses escaped with relatively little damage, just what you would suspect from a big blow, shingles, lanai screens, trees but not much more.
