Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.

I found at the portland swap meet this last week end a great find that I knew nothing about, nor have I ever even heard it been mentioned.  I was looking through a litature table of ads and sales stuff and came across a group of books called "Corvette News", each booklet (magazine) was around 30 pages and covered two months per issue, the man at the booth told me that when you purchased a new vette back then you got signed up for this magazine for a free year subsricption.  I found five magazines for the 1970 corvette, one has a great article from an editor of car magazine on the 1970 LT-1, reason I bought the set.  Person in booth and I figure that there might only be five issues for 1970 due to the short, late production of that year, or that the last issue of 69 could be the issue that introduces the 1970, which ever it is doesn't really matter to me, I might see if they have the last issue of 69 and the first issue of 71 that way I cover the whole year. Anyone else heard of these????  The other thing I found that I passed on that I think I should have gone for was a red hardtop in nice shape, asking 950.00.  looking around on e-bay and such the price was really good, at least I have a little idea now of what they cost or what people think they are worth.

Now the great find of the week end that I am going to go pick up on Friday was a golf cart and trailer, not just any golf cart but a gas powered two stroke cart at was tastefully fitting with a 1923 model C ford pick up body, it is the coolest looking thing I had seen in a long time.  I am purchasing it in hopes of using it as a form of business from my daughter who is disabled.  I have lots of ideas for it, since she will be leaving the school system this year (she is 21) I'm thinking of maybe ice cream vendor, advertising (renting it out and have her and her helper drive it around town, parades, promotional events, many many many options, more than I believe she had before I seen this.  I will need to make was shoulder straps for her due to her disablility, but there is a lot of potental, I am so fired up about it they I had to share it with the family.  When I get it I will post a couple of pic, you guys will flip, and if it doesn't pan out to work then I will either take up golf or return to a swap meet and sell it to some one else, nothing ventured nothing gained, right...

Corvette News was a great mag. I have a lot of them from the C1/C2 years and a book called The Best of Corvette News. Too bad GM stopped making it. Great to hear about your golf cart find!  Keep us posted.
