Thanks guys.

I'm headed out to the surgery center now.

I'll post when I can.  It's at 10:30 today and so far, the worst part is no coffee.  I'm usually good for a couple of pots by 10 am.

Joel, I tried the orthotics and have been walking on my ankles as well.  He says this presents as a classic case and didn't even want to try the steroid shots based on pain level and his experience.  He did well with Vicki's feet, so that's why I chose him.  She had bunion surgery on both feet screwed up by a doc and this guy fixed her real good.  I hope I can remember to ask him if I can expect this in the other foot too.Ouch

Larry, when I went to my GP for the blood workup yesterday, he jumped on me REALLY HARD about following the docs recommendations.  It seems he had done his surgery stint with my foot doc and said that those who followed what he said got better and those that didn't came back under the knife.  He really put the fear of God in me.  I thought those guys were just covering their malpractice butts with the long recoup times, but Doc Kelley seems to think otherwise.

I promised him I'd do whatever Doc Hall wants me to do.

Here we GO!!!

C'YA!

Guys;

I'm back.  Surgery went ok.  The doc says that after I was completely out, I was still fighting him, so he put 18cc's of Lidocaine into the foot.

He says that it looks like I ruptured the tendon recently and that he repaired what he could, but there could be more work to be done.

He also said the cast will go on Monday next and will be on till Feb or Mar 08.Wits%20End

I hope this isn't the case, but from what I have read on webmd and in talking wiht a buddy of mine that had tendon surgery, he says this could be the case.

I guess I'll just have to learn to drive the vette with my left foot or with a cane.Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing

Thanks for the good thoughts, I really appreciate them.

Thanks, Micki.  Women shark drivers don't scare me.  We've got some really good ones in our club.

I'm still hopin' against hope that I can make it.  I just have to figure out how to stow the crutches...

It ain't lookin' too good, what with all the hills and off-camber walking you have to do.

Please take some pix so I can do an article for SB for the fall.

Thanks,

A wheelchair on Eureka streets and roads would be more dangerous than walking.  There is nothing flat or straight there!

Well, got the walking (what a joke) cast today.  I now can't go to Eureka because they won't take the stitches out until 04 Oct and want them out on that day.  Then, I go into another cast/walking boot.  I tried hard, but couldn't put any real weight on the hoof.

And yes, realistically, Eureka on less than 100% pegs is not a good idea.  Oh well.  I guess 71Shark has to pick me up a shirt and a new wallet.  I get one every 3 or 4 years from the leather guy in town and mine is now officially shot.

Micki, please don't forget the pix.

Hope you guys have a good time.

Heck...I've had worse scratches than that on me eyeball...
(jest funnin, Dennis)
Hope it heals up nicely, and solves the problem. You definitely need 100% feet when walking swap-meets/car shows. Best to let it rest, anyway, so it'll heal faster, and not do any other damage. Take a break!
