I was reading the fine print in my retirement benefits plan the other day, and ran across this:
If you had purchased $1,000.00 of Delta Air Lines stock one year ago you would have $49.00 left.
With Enron, you would have had $16.50 left of the original $1,000.00.
With WorldCom, you would have had less than $5.00 left.
But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer, one year ago, drank all of the beer, and then turned in the cans for the aluminum recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.
Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.
It's called the 401-Keg.

I spend all mine, and when I need to know how my money is doing I just look in the garage

I don't drink beer............but I guess Coke........with the aluminum can returns should work out the same. Actually Coke is cheaper......so I could even come out ahead.

It's best not to look at your 401K for the next couple years. Just bums me out. I wouldn't call my Vette an investment only pride. At least with a Vette you have something to look at.
My wife saves all the cans, she gets about $300 a year. We call it, "Her pocket money?"
I LOVE BEER but the Vette is where I like to spend my time and money. Planning on having a few beers when I get the Vette back.

I work my second job to afford the vettes and beer so, when it's time to turn in the cans, the money goes to a good cause, more beer and car parts

Low miles (was only 8,900 when I bought it in March 2006) - Now 54K miles. Original owner bought it as an investment for son's college expenses.

The only problem with making my Vette an "investment" is that after hearing so many people with the phrase "I wish I'd never gotten rid of that car," I'll never sell it!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
