Welcome me to the wonderful world of Unemployement!
That's right, just hours ago I was tossed to the curb. I worked for Pep Boys at their Store Support Center. They laid me off along with 1041 other people company wide. They closed 33 stores today.
Well, I guess I can take advantage of the UC fund I've been contributing to every week!

I got wind of the lay offs yesterday afternoon.
Found out I was axed this morning.
And no, no prospects yet.
If anyone hears of any Visual Basic or Web Development jobs, please let me know.
Thanks!

Hey -- bummer news. Remember I had called you a few months back about some free-lance work for my company's web-site? I know our IT guy John was a little wrapped up in some other projects when we first threw the idea around, but I'll bring the idea back up with him. Might help you cover the bills between "real" jobs.

Woo Adam sorry to hear that, good luck finding something. I was in contact with PEP Boys a few months back, I wanted to open a store here and was told they weren't interested and all there stores were corprate owned. They told me if I wanted I could purchase stock, I'm not looking for that, I wanted to set into auto part.
Well, again good luck finding a job, hope you even do better.

Adam,
Have you ever thought about teaching? I don't know about Pennsylvania, but down here in Ga. you could teach at a Technical College if you have an Associates Degree. The high schools here always have an eye out for a technolgy teacher, it may be the same up there. I got into teaching from out of the drafting field a couple of years ago. The pay is good, the job is rewarding, and having the summer off is a nice benefit. Check around up there and see what's available.

Sorry to hear 'bout that Chief. I spent 8 months of last year in the same boat. I'll try to find a couple of places that do contract work over the web. A friend told me about them and he has used them some for doing free-lance work on the side.
Hang in there...!!!
