Ok, there are plenty of signs that the world is ending (And it will get really bad...). At some point soon the Anti-Christ will rise, and Jesus will come back to fight him, and then he will make the world run as it is supposed to be ran. Dude.... I don't watch X-Files I hate X-Files. But that is the date which Jesus will fight the Anti-Christ in Israel. Yes, I know this is a Vette forum. But I needed to post this somewhere with knowledgeable people. I needed somewhere to get some closure.

im just pointing out that the date is a pretty blatant fabrication.

the date December 21st 2012 is the last day on the mayan calendar. Their calenday counted down to the date of the end of the world passed on to them in their polytheistic religion.

this was used in the "x-files" as the date of the final alien invasion that doomed humankind.

I doubt very seriously that the monthiestic christian god and the polytheistic mayan gods sat down and agreed to end the world on the same day. The "pagan" religion of the mayans predicted the end of the world on this day long before some X-files fan put a rumor on the internet.

OK...just curious, has anyone seen the words "The Anti Christ" in the Bible? How about "The Rapture" where are those words? They are not there. About the so called Anti Christ, the book of Revelations, written by a dude on mushrooms, talks about a beast and a dragon not an Anti Christ. St. Paul mentions a "Man of Lawlessness" coming as a sign of end of times because guess what...some of the Thessalonians had stopped working and started waiting because Paul had told them previously that "the Lord could come at any moment." Freaked them out. So he had to write a second letter to the Thessalonians to clean up his mess from the first letter he wrote. Why do you think there are 2 letters to the Thessalonians. Now regarding Paul's "Man of Lawlessness"....seen any of them lately or for that matter how many have we seen since Paul wrote the letter around 51 AD. And regarding the Author of Revelations, most Religious would have you believe that the Appostle John wrote the book. I doubt it and so do most Bilibical scholars. Assuming that he did write it around 95 AD, that would put him roughly at 100 years old when he wrote revelations. A ripe old age for lucid thinking. And don't tell me they lived to be a bahzillion years old back then, hogwash, they got old just like us, got senial just like us, and croaked, yes, just like us. The end of times is not here. I'm sure when it comes, it will be a grand ole time for the folks who are around, seeing as how it will either come a a natural phenom such as a new ice age, or our on doing like a nuclear melt down of the earth. My suggestion is to put the fundamentalist magazines down and pick up a good history book to put things in perspective. I would start with "The History of God" written by Karen Armstrong. It will put a fresh perspective on "the old interpretations" After that I would read Chilton's and figure out how to fix those damn winshield wipers.


You know the sad thing about the folks who print the End of Times crap, unlike St. Paul, they don't clean up they're mess.

And just one more Bible trivia thing that the Religious don't mention (these damn details get in the way) St. Paul had written just about all of his stuff before the Synoptic Gospels where written and was well beyond dead when Revelations was written. So technically speaking, he is the first to mention the Anti Christ "the Lawless Man" in writing. However, supposing that the Gospels are an accurate reflection of Christ's words, Christ would be the first to reference "the Anti Christ" and by the way, he dosn't say one dude will show up, he warns the diciples that "Many will come in my name, claiming, "I am he,' and, 'The time is near.' Do not follow them. Christ also said after he talked about signs of the end of times, " I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all of these things have happened." So technically he missed the call too. But he had a disclaimer...No one know's, not even the Son of Man.

Sad thing about those End of Times soothsayers, they forget to add a discalimer.

Well I'm glad to see this thread here in General Non Vette Discussion is getting back on it's original track here. Maybe Louis can get a little closure to his fears. We are here to help one another. And if we didn't deviate from the subject in the first place we wouldn't be arguing in the second place.

Read Jesus's predictions about the ushering in of the "Kingdom of God." By the way, Christ tells of the end of the "age" not time. By most account, Jesus was talking about a Kingdom here on earth, not in the ether. It's in all three synoptic gospels. The predictions fit every generation since he spoke the words.

I think it will be easier to make more sense out of the CHILTONS manual,
