It's a shame the " 3 strikes " law of Calif. isn't a Federal one. It just makes good sence.

I didn't get to go, but since I live 2 blocks from the funeral parlor I did see the unbelievable amount of people/officers that came to pay their respects.
Another thing that greatly impressed me was that almost immediately, from the moment that Sgt. Popolizio past away, his fellow officers stood diligent in front of his house. This not only showed their love and respect for him and his family, but it also kept the gawker away, and especially the media, who are usually the first to criticize our protectors and couldn't care less of the pain and suffering his passing had caused.
As for the 3 strikes you're out law, it was the NRA who proposed it and pushed for it in CA. It hasn't gained much speed anywhere else because it was an NRA idea. Very few politicians will support any the NRA suggest, even if it makes sense.
