I show up at work today, after staying late last nite, and the owner decides to tell me he needs someone who is willing to work at least 60 hrs a week. He says he knows I ain't gonna do that, so........
I got the boot!
Needless to say, I'm not a very happy camper right now. While we were on vacation in PF, they wound up doing some stuff that got the shop involved in several lawsuits, and since I'm the guy that makes all the $$$, I'm the first to go, so the bleeding will slow down.
I'm stuck now having to find a place to put all my equipment, and tools. I have no room here at the house to put anything else, so I have to go rent a storage building, and then I have to get all my crap moved, before the south of the border guys there start helping themselves to my stuff.
I'm so p
d right now.....
(no, it ain't april...)

Sorry Joel!
Is your job being a mechanic? If not, what is your trade?
I know what it's like to be at the top of the food chain and get the boot because of it!
On the bright side, if this company was getting themselves into lots of trouble, it's probably better that you don't stay with them.
If there is anything we can do to help, let us know.

They will see how indespensible you were in a few weeks after the
pressure picks up on the others. I know that don't help now, but I believe
in karma, so it'll come around. Hang in there.

That really sucks, Joel. Hope you find a position quickly. Remember when a door closes, a window opens. My wife was laid off her job several months ago...she just opened her own business and is now in charge of her own future. Maybe that's where your future lies.

Wow, sorry to hear the bad news. I would think a lot of shops would die to have someone of your tallents working for them. Hang in there
Bum deal!! Happened to me a few years ago, New Years Eve, EVERYONE got fired. Asked me to get licensed and insured as a sub contractor and stay on that way. Best thing I ever did. Was able to walk away from them a year later and I pick my own jobs now. Only wish I had done it 20 years ago! Good luck, gotta be work for good transmisson guys. Just hard starting new somewhere. Mike
Joel- That sucks.
But like it has been said, sometimes when life deals you lemons, you have an opportunity to make the best lemonade ever. Or something like that.
This might be an opportunity to rent space in a gas station and be your own boss.
Anyway, good luck and I hope things turn around for you real soon.
Are you sure this isn't April 1?
